Charlotte Béatrice de Rothschild was a strong headed, fickle, decisive woman. She constructed her incredible villa at Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and filled it with stunning artwork, inside and out.
She was a French socialite, an art collector, and a member of the Rothschild banking family of France.

In her will, Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild secured her villas, arts, treasures, gardens, and more by dedicating them to the purpose of creating a museum, as it is presented today. Her undying efforts in creating a stunning location hardly went unnoticed.
